1. Maintenance and management during construction
It is very important to manage and maintain the ball valve scientifically in the construction period. In the construction period, the equipment management and scientific maintenance can not only ensure safety, but also greatly reduce cost of construction and operation management period. We should pay attention to the following aspects.
- ①Use the right method to load and unload the valve to avoid mechanical damage. When lifting the valve, the lifting belt shall not be tied to the valve rod or actuator for lifting, otherwise the valve rod will be bent, the valve diameter seal will fail and the gearbox will be damaged;
- ②Before leaving the factory, simple blind plates shall be installed at both ends of the valve to prevent water, sand and other impurities on the construction site from entering the valve cavity during transportation and, causing corrosion and damage to the seal;
- ③On the construction site, the valves should be placed on the sleepers in order, and should not be placed anywhere, so as to avoid damage or break of the drain nozzle and grease injection nozzle;
- ④The valve must be greased before installation. Check whether the grease injection channel is smooth through the grease injection side. On the other hand, the sealing surface and back cavity of the valve seat should be filled to avoid impurities entering the sealing surface and back cavity, and at the same time, the damage of the valve seat caused by high temperature welding can be reduced to a certain extent;
- ⑤During the whole process of installation, the valve shall be kept in the fully open position;
- ⑥When the welding is completed and the hydrostatic test is completed and before and after each operation, the lubricating grease shall be added in a certain amount in time;
- ⑦after the hydrostatic test is completed, the water in the valve chamber shall be drained in time so that it will not rust and freeze.
2. Suggestions for daily maintenance during operation
- ① Periodically check the tightness of the valve through the blowdown nozzle. If there is internal leakage, handle it according to the internal leakage treatment procedure;
- ② Inject a certain amount of fresh grease into the valve seat in time. The amount and frequency of injection depends on the frequency of valve activity. Generally, after the valve is used, a proper amount of grease should be injected, and each injection amount is about 1 / 8 of the volume of the sealing system. The purpose is to avoid the impurities in the pipeline entering into the rear chamber of the valve seat to the greatest extent, which can affect the movement of the valve seat, thus leading to seal failure. At the same time, ensure that the sealing surface is always in a “wet” state;
- ③ Use the valve that is hardly used at least once a year, and inject proper amount of lubricating grease at the same time, so as to avoid the ball and the valve seat gluing, and avoid the dry grinding when the ball moves, so as to protect the valve seat and the ball;
- ④ Before winter, the ball valve shall be fully maintained, and the water in the valve cavity and the actuator shall be drained, so that it will no freeze in winter, affecting the normal function;
- ⑤ Replace the grease in the gear transmission once a year;
- ⑥ Check the valve diameter seal regularly. In case of any leakage, handle it in time;
- ⑦ remove the rust and maintain the surface.
